Personal

 John Dawson grew up in the small town of Morocco, IN.  He spent his childhood working on the grain and cattle operation of his family farm with his mother and father, Sandy and Rick Dawson. He and his sister, Carla, were active in 4-H where John spent a year as President of the local club. He went to high school at Culver Military Academy graduating as the top ranked military officer and swim team captain. 

John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Purdue University. John enjoys spending his free time managing Dawson Angus Farm; his cattle have taken top honors at the Indiana State Fair, Hoosier Beef Congress, North American Livestock Exposition and National Western. Being an animal lover, John also enjoys his cat, Noel. John and his wife Gretchen, also a graduate of Purdue University married in September of 2010. Gretchen is employed by Clarian Health as a Registered Nurse.
